Ethics & Sustainability

Every effort has been made to make my designs as ethical and sustainable as possible. This is something very close to my heart.

The Product

100% Organic Cotton - what is it?

"Many of us don’t realise that what we wear started life in the soil. Cotton is grown in a field, the fluffy fibre is picked and then spun into thread. Once cotton has been woven, it is light, breathable, easy to work with and easy to wear. This is why more than half the clothes sold in the UK are made from cotton.

There are various sustainable cottons available. To be sure that what you are buying is grown in a sustainable way, choose certified organic cotton. Organic farming is the only system that doesn't use highly toxic substances. It's better for the environment and works for the long-term benefit of people and the planet." - Soil Association

The organic cotton fabrics are printed in one of the most eco-friendly ways possible, using Digital Pigment inks and screen printing {more info here}

The printing process requires no water and uses around 95% less energy than traditional screen printing.

Packaging

My packaging is made from recycled materials continuing the commitment to make the designs as eco friendly as possible.

Working local

All my products are made here in the UK. I work with a UK based company for the screen printing and maufacturing of my cushion covers and a local Sussex (UK) supplier for my cushion pads.

To be continued...

My aim is to keep improving and looking for new ways to have less impact. My next mission is to find eco freindly zips (which has proved very difficult)
